Public Guardianship

The Director of the St. Mary’s County Department of Aging & Human Services, the Home and Community Based-Services Division Manager, and the Guardianship Representative of the Department of Aging & Human Services act as the court-appointed guardian of person for individuals 65 years of age and older. These individuals lack capacity to act on their behalf and have no other person willing, able nor suitable to serve as their guardian of person.
